Juneau Reunion 2020

Coats of arms belong to specific individuals and families.
There is no such thing except in rare case as a family coat of arms. Do you know from which Juneau Cousin listed in the "Blue Book" "Genealogy of the Juneau Family", or the two volume "Red Books" "Genealogy of the Juneau Family" you descended?
The Blue Book Available from Jacques or Matthieu Juneau (see below) On July 31, 1960 at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Cape, Cap-de-La-Madeleine, Notre Dame du Cap, Quebec Canada, the first Juneau reunion took place. Paul Landry of Valmont, Quebec informed Eugene Connerton of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, that he had hoped to have the genealogical history of the Juneau family published by the tricentennial date in 1963. Connerton was asked to help compile a detailed history of the Juneaus in the United States and also an English version of the work from Milwaukee. Connerton had dedicated better than two decades researching Solomon Juneau and every scrap of information he had been able to gather regarding Solomon’s descendants. The Genealogy of the Juneau Family 1600-1965 by L.-Paul Landry and Eugene J. Connerton was copyrighted in 1971. This book is known as the Blue Book. In the book, ʺGenealogy of the Juneau Familyʺ, better known as the ʺBlue Bookʺ in the fifth generation, 40 male cousins were listed and from those 40 cousins their descendants were likewise listed. Forty male cousins are shown on the genealogy chart that came with the Blue Book. Eugene Connerton said he made a mistake by not listing any of the female descendants. After all, the females had Juneau blood too, although not the Juneau name. The Association des Juneau d'Amérique still has copies of the Blue Book. Jacques Juneau in La Tuque has most of them. They sell it with an index (prepared with the help of Léo-Paul Landry) and the Supplement published in 2000. Anyone interested can contact Jacques (jaco.juno@gmail.com) or Mathieu Juneau matthieujuneau @ hotmail.com (by e-mail, and I will transfer to Jacques). I should add we have done a lot of work and research, based on historical documents, and anyone interested is invited to become member of the Association (only 15$/year; two Bulletins/year, in French and English). The Red Books (Volumes I and II) Available from John Juneau (Juneau Reunion) (see below) Founded by Virginia Juneau, wife of Joe Juneau's fifth cousin, Alcide Joseph "Frenchie" Juneau (deceased), the Juneau International Family Reunion started in 1991 to honor descendants of Clement Jouineau, a 16th century Frenchman known as the forefather of all North American Juneaus. Since then, international reunions have been held in the United States, France and Canada. "They had such a good time meeting cousins that they didn't know they had, so they voted to have (a reunion) every three years," said Virginia Juneau, of Shreveport, La. Virginia and John Juneau expanded the 5th Gen to include not only the sons, but the daughters, too, This brought the number of 5th Gen Cousins to 99 in the 2006 edition of the Red Books. Juneau Reunion, 5325 N. Market St. Shreveport, LA 71107 Total cost is $125 for the set of the 2 Red Books and includes cost of postage within the USA. Within 2 weeks after I get the check, I will ship out the books. It ships via US Mail and should only take a few days to deliver in the USA John Juneau 318-221-8173 |
